2022 Spring Appeal

This Spring we are encouraging the community to Connect With Your Library!

The Library is busy planning for a robust Summer Reading Program and we want to welcome all of the new patrons who have signed up for library cards in recent weeks. Making connections is one of many attributes and services our Library offers, and with so many new ways of engaging, connecting and interacting, we want to help the Library reach even more in our community. With your help, we can do just that.

The Library has committed to expanding it's communications, services and access to the community.

  • Every elementary school in Sun Prairie will receive a visit and flyer for the Summer Reading Program

  • Welcome packets to new residents and new cardholders

  • New programming, supporting book clubs, and expanded visits with the Dream Bus Mobile Library

The Foundation is asking again for your support in keeping Sun Prairie strong by helping our library expand vital services and continue assisting people in developing new skills. If you have the means, please give generously — your gift will have the power to cultivate hope and promise in this new season for our neighbors who need it the most. Will you give now to help expand access and opportunities for Sun Prairie residents?

What Your Gift Will Do

Communicating and engaging with the community is how the Library can best serve our community's needs. Expanding access to materials and resources is important to a growing community.

"Summer slide" isn't a new park feature, but does impact our youngest community members when not engaged in reading, writing, math and creative endeavors which happens most often over summer break. The Youth Services department has built a great Summer Reading Program we want to continue to support any way we can.

Moving to a new city can be overwhelming, but the library is often one of the first places new residents come to. Whether gaining internet access, researching and applying for jobs, housing, nearest grocery store, entertainment, or getting the latest NY Times Bestseller, the library has the tools and resources to connect new and current residents to the greater community.

Over 6,000 residents in Dane County have no internet access. Our Library is the only place in Sun Prairie that offers free, publicly funded internet access. Our Library also offers drive up window pick up of holds (by appointment) and is open year-round on Sundays.
