2021 Spring Appeal

*Spring Appeal Update! Thanks to your generosity, the Foundation has surpassed its $10,000 goal and raised of $13,000!! We're looking forward to sharing stories of how your donations have made a meaningful impact in the Sun Prairie community. Thank you!

Spring has long been a time for growth and new beginnings, and that feels especially true and needed this year. As we look eagerly toward the promise of gathering together again soon, the Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation is launching a new initiative to support the Library and our community and we hope you’ll join us.

COVID-19 has changed so much for so many people, including the needs of our community. Recognizing this, the Library has committed to developing their existing discussion rooms to serve more diverse, dynamic, and flexible purposes.

  • Skills development, including meeting with a job coach, resume preparation, and job-readiness training

  • Private and secure spaces for online doctor visits, tenant services consulting, and financial assistance

  • Spaces that allow for social distancing while accommodating in-person meetings

The Foundation is asking again for your support in keeping Sun Prairie strong by helping our library expand vital services and continue assisting people in developing new skills. If you have the means, please give generously — your gift will have the power to cultivate hope and promise in this new season for our neighbors who need it the most. Will you give now to help expand access and opportunities for Sun Prairie residents?

What Your Gift Will Do

The employment landscape has changed. The new meeting rooms will provide technology and programming to assist with job readiness training, skill development, and workforce development - all of which will strengthen our community.

Healthcare is happening in new ways that aren't immediately accessible for everyone. The new meeting rooms will offer quiet, private space with teleconference capabilities.

Privacy can be hard to come by when everything for everyone is happening in the same four walls. The new meeting rooms will allow for private, social distanced meetings in a familiar and friendly location, equipped for multiple purposes.

Over 6,000 residents in Dane County have no internet access. Our Library is the only place in Sun Prairie that offers free, publicly funded internet access. The new meeting rooms will expand that access and offer new resources for ALL our residents.
