Get Involved with the Foundation
The Foundation is always in need of volunteers, particularly one-day assistance for our annual events. We also welcome volunteers interested in any of our committees, like Book'n It, Spring Gala, Marketing, and Annual Appeal. Even our signature events usually only require a commitment for just a few weeks a year. The amount of involvement is up to you!
If you are interested in volunteering on a committee or for a specific event, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or use our contact form on this page. Your message will go to our Administrative Assistant. She will forward your request to the Chairperson of the event you wish to help with and they will contact you.
Thank you for your interest in working with the Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation to make our library even better.
The Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation is fortunate to have a board whose members truly live the term “working board.” Members serve a three year term; current directors rotate off and new ones join every year. That means the board is always looking for new directors who are passionate about our library and the important role it plays in our community.
The Board of Directors meets every other month for approximately two hours, and in committees as needed. The two major fundraising events that require participation from everyone on the Board are the Spring Gala and the Book'n It Run for Literacy in early August. Our events and committees require work outside of board meetings in order to be successful.
The Foundation seeks members who are creative, energetic, and passionate about the library and what it brings to the community. Talents needed include accounting, marketing, legal expertise, communication, fundraising, artistic design, website maintenance, and advocacy. A strong commitment to participation is a must. Members must be comfortable directly soliciting monetary donations from past and prospective donors, as well as reaching out to the community for in-kind donations and volunteer work.
